I had not read the original version of this book, so I had no preconceived notions of what to expect. It has lovely photos and illustrations that display numerous types of sexual activity ... most of which I was not aware of. But as a senior citizen that probably isn't unusual. It is informative and written with thoughtfulness and sensitivity. I recommend it.
I was shocked as a teen when my Mom was reading this book. But I see it now as a barrier breaker. Not for prudes...but good info forthose who could use some practical help and information on a personal topic of universal importance.
This book was recommended to me by a therapist. Husband and I purchased it several months ago and are slowly going through it. We take turns reading each other chapters and talking about it. We are less than halfway through, and have already learned a bit and got some nice ideas! I would recommend it for anyone looking to read along with a partner and try out something new. We are having a lot of fun with it! The book is a nice hardcover with a good jacket.
The authors do a thorough job of explaining the intimacy of sexual interaction between a man and a woman. They explain that sex is not just the mechanics involved, but there is mutual respect, tenderness, and commitment to one another.
Between scientific information and playful tips.Nicely illustrated. It's not porn at all, it's romantic.Picture and illustrations show the same heterosexual couple through out the book.
I had this book when it originally came out about 40 years ago. Lots of updates & new information for a now senior. Drawing are much better and more information.
a bit wordy. well done though with good mix of illustrations and photographs and updated information. none of the updates equal the straight-forward simplicity of the original though.
Dang it. Where was this book when I was 20 years younger? Oh yeah. In the bookstore. But stupid me was too shy to buy it. Go get it. Now.
